A recreational activity, “Passing the Parcel,” was organized at St John of God , Old Goa to engage the residents in a fun and interactive session. The game was designed to promote social interaction, entertainment, and laughter among the elderly participants. Each layer of the parcel contained a small task or forfeit, ensuring continuous engagement and enjoyment.
The elderly residents were seated in 2 rows to facilitate easy passing of the parcel.
A wrapped parcel was passed around while music played in the background.
When the music stopped, the participant holding the parcel unwrapped a layer and discovered a fun forfeit or task.
Entertaining forfeits included singing a song, sharing a childhood memory, tongue twister or recitation of a nursery rhyme.
The game continued until the final layer was unwrapped, revealing a small prize for all participants.
The game was well received, with enthusiastic participation from all the elderly residents.
Laughter and joy filled the room as each task brought in cheer .
