A lively and engaging session of Clap and Pass was conducted for the residents of the home. The game was set to an upbeat and energetic track. APT featuring Rose and Bruno Mars, selected specifically to uplift the mood and create a fun atmosphere.
As the parcel was passed around in a circle, music played in the background. When the music stopped, the inmate holding the parcel was asked to pick a chit from a bowl. Each chit contained a unique clap rhythm pattern, musical phrase, beat challenge, which participants had to perform. These included a steady 4/4 beat with variations in rests, Eighth notes and 2 bar phrasing.
This not only encouraged active participation but also stimulated memory, coordination, and laughter.
The last person holding the parcel was asked to open it, which revealed a “threat” for all.
The activity was a resounding success, with high levels of engagement, smiling faces, and warm applause. It encouraged rhythmic expression, social interaction, and emotional well-being in a lighthearted and inclusive manner.
