Riva accompanied me as part of her internship program to both houses .She helped out with clicking pictures and engaging the residents.
No of residents who participated/ listened in -25
Today’s session was talking about Holidays and the importance of having change in our lives .I shared with them my holiday experiences and manyof the residents shared theirs too. Most spoke about their time spent at their grandparents place and eating mangoes and always being well fed and how they used to enjoy themselves exploring different places with their cousins.
Memories of their past brought about great smiles even to those listening .
After going back in time ,we ended with a short yoga session – breathing ,lymph drainage and eye exercises.
They were content and asked when we were coming next .Most followed instructions .

Mogadan
Activity -Learning to Knit
No of participants- 4 and one sister
Time 10.15 to 11.30

Sister Pushpa requested that I teach a few of the residents knitting (material like wool and needles the sisters had with them)as a few of them are capable of grasping new skills.
They were eager to learn and have shown great skill and enthusiasm.Hoever the most enthusiastic of the lot was a chatty, chirpy young sister who picked up the skill in no time at all…definitely an eager beaver.
I will continue with the knitting session on my next visit too ,just so they learn and practice the stitches too..Many of the other residents came to look and some asked why we were not showing them anything but because of their inability. We could not teach them this particular activity .However Riva suggested that she will accompany me on the 3rd as well and she would conduct some activity for the others at Mogadan while I teach some of them knitting .A Win-win for all.
Riva, the intern is compasionate and helped click pictures for me as well as conducting sessions at both places .
