The activity aimed to provide the elderly women with a sense of care, affection, and personal attention through a simple yet meaningful gesture—applying nail polish. The intention was to help them feel pampered, valued, and connected.
The session was organized as a personal grooming and bonding experience.
Women residents were invited in small groups to have their nails gently cleaned and painted in the color of their choice.
A variety of nail polish shades were provided, and each participant was given the freedom to choose . Warm conversation added to the relaxing atmosphere.
Around 23 ladies participated and got their nails and toes done. On application, all got a small treat.
The women responded with smiles and laughter.
Some requested brighter colors and were delighted to show their polished nails to others.
It promoted a sense of dignity, self-worth, and personal attention among the inmates.
